Certification options: Most courses are available through both PADI and SDI. We will help you choose the path that best fits your goals.
Open Water Diver — Beginner Certification
Start your scuba journey with the foundational certification recognized worldwide. Complete classroom/online theory, pool sessions, and open water dives to become a confident, safe diver.
Who it’s for
New divers with little or no previous experience, generally age 10+ who are comfortable in the water and ready to explore Utah lakes and beyond.
What you’ll learn
- Core scuba theory, equipment setup, and safety procedures
- Essential underwater skills in a controlled pool environment
- Buoyancy control, buddy procedures, and basic navigation
- Completion of four open water training dives
Advanced Open Water Diver
Build confidence, expand your skills, and experience new types of diving under instructor supervision. This course focuses on practical diving experience rather than classroom time.
Who it’s for
Certified Open Water Divers who want to gain more experience, improve buoyancy and navigation, and try specialty-style dives.
What you’ll learn
- Core adventure dives such as deep and navigation
- Optional dives such as peak performance buoyancy, night, or search and recovery
- Planning and executing dives with less direct supervision
- Refined trim, buoyancy, and underwater awareness
Rescue Diver
Become the kind of diver others want to dive with. Rescue Diver training prepares you to prevent problems, manage emergencies, and respond confidently if something goes wrong.
Who it’s for
Advanced Open Water (or equivalent) divers who want to increase their awareness, leadership, and safety skills. CPR/First Aid training is typically required or can be added.
What you’ll learn
- Recognizing and preventing common dive problems
- Self-rescue and assisting tired, panicked, or unresponsive divers
- Search patterns, surfacing procedures, and in-water rescue breathing
- Emergency action planning for local dive sites
Divemaster
Turn your passion into leadership. The Divemaster course is your first professional-level step, preparing you to guide dives, assist with classes, and mentor new divers.
Who it’s for
Rescue Divers (or equivalent) with solid experience who are ready to take on leadership responsibilities and work closely with instructors.
What you’ll learn
- Professional-level dive planning, briefings, and supervision
- Assisting with classes from beginner to advanced levels
- Demonstration-quality skills and problem-solving
- Local dive site management and logistics
Specialty Courses

Kids & Youth Programs
Introduce young swimmers to the underwater world in a safe, fun, and age-appropriate way. Our youth programs are led by instructors experienced in working with kids and families.
Who it’s for
Kids and teens (age ranges vary by program) who are comfortable in the water and want to try scuba in a pool or work toward junior certifications.
What they’ll learn
- Basic scuba concepts and safety in a shallow, controlled environment
- Using kid-sized gear and breathing comfortably underwater
- Teamwork, buddy skills, and respect for the underwater environment
